The Flow: Building the Bayan Beyond Our Walls
In our journey to build a soulful sanctuary at 222 Lake Street, we’ve always known that the "Bayan" spirit—the spirit of communal unity—extends far beyond our four walls. We believe in the power of a collective: a community of makers who push the boundaries of what is possible with their hands and their hearts.
That is why I am so proud to announce that Bayan Ceramics is officially a member of the Chicago Center for Craft (CCC).
The CCC is a premier hub for artists specializing in wood, metal, glass, fiber, and clay. Their mission resonates deeply with our own: to connect artists with audiences and foster a deeper cultural appreciation for the "handmade."
The Positive Force in Action While our 7,600 sq. ft. studio is still being prepared for you, our commitment to the Chicago craft community is already in full swing. To celebrate our new partnership, Bayan Ceramics is a https://www.chicagocenterforcraft.org for the Inaugural Chicago Craft Crawl hosted by the Chicago Center for Craft next Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22.
Why We Choose to Lead with Support
By supporting the CCC ecosystem of makers, teachers, and dreamers, we are investing in the very community that makes our city vibrant. Supporting local craft isn’t just about the objects we make; it’s about the connections we forge.
Although you can’t get your hands in Bayan clay just yet, we invite you to support the movement that makes our future studio possible.
The Future is Coming to Oak Park
Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to our Grand Opening at 222 Lake Street. For now, let’s celebrate the hands that build our community.
